We are a communing people and we do love a good commune. This time the communing took place at the old country homestead in Arkansas. It was the first time all 11 of us have been together...ever! The merry-making was almost too much for me to bear. A visit from my good friends Tracy and Adam added to the fun as well as getting to see Uncle Scott, Aunt Judy, and their sons, Christopher and Jonathan. We even drove south to my grandmother's farm and visited with my dad's side of the family. We laughed, told stories, read stories, sang songs, made up songs, cooked endlessly (which included a lot of enjoying of the fine baked goods), drank pots and pots of the beloved almond tea, went on long walks, breathed deeply of the crisp winter air, kissed and cuddled the babies every second of the day and each did our share of wiping runny noses and changing diapers. All of this togetherness is a rare thing for our family since we live in 4 different states and we soaked up every moment. Now without further adieu, let the photo montage begin...
(and of course the True Reason for celebrating...Emmanuel, God is with us!...she played with the nativity every day and especially loved Baby Jesus and "the funny wiseman")
