A group of my friends went to Melilla, Spain for a weekend celebration of my 26th birthday! We all loved being in the West for a few days!

It happened to be the week of Feria (the Spanish fair) and there were tons of places to eat churros and dance. Since the Spanish culture is crazy about dancing, people from all walks of life came out to join the party. Women and little girls go all out for the flamenco and what's amazing is that everyone really does know how to do it! It's like a musical when everyone all of a sudden breaks out into synchronized dancing that somehow they all know. I, of course, LOVED it. I caught this photo of Martha dancing with the younger flamenco dancers. (There was a portion of the evening with "directed dancing" for those of us who don't really know what we're doing...it consisted of very little dancing actually, mostly just laughing at ourselves.)

And for those of you European-lovers like myself (I might be a little obsessed), you will understand how excited we were for a cappuccino at a sidewalk cafe. It was definitely a highlight of the weekend.

And I just couldn't pass up this photo of these older Spanish gentlemen enjoying the evening air.
